The KG Robots were a faction that participated in the War for Haven City. Founded in 299 HE, they were originally a prototype robotic department of the Krimzon Guard that came under the command of Cyber Errol. They were shaped into an elite fighting force, with thousands created at the KG War Factory floating above Haven City.

Commanders and Leaders

Cyber Errol

Originally a commander in the Krimzon Guard, Erol was horrifically wounded after attempting to kill Jak after the Class 1 NYFE Race of 300 HE. At the end of the Metal Head Wars, his loyal robot troops restored him as Cyber Errol at the KG War Factory, which had been set to automatic production of KG Robots before the death of Baron Praxis. Desiring revenge on all living things, Cyber Errol declared the War for Haven City as leader of the KG Robots, later forging alliances with the Metal Heads and Dark Makers, thus acquiring the eco and resources to fund his war machine. After the Raid on the KG War Factory, Errol lost interest in leading the KG and Metal Head factions in the War for Haven City and became obsessed with contacting the Dark Makers. This culminated in the Last Charge of the Dark and Light Brigade, where he piloted a Dark Maker Terraformer and was killed by Jak after a long battle in the Wasteland.

UR-86

Born in 299 HE, UR-86 was a KG Robot who later served as a mercenary combat racer for Razor and Mizo during the Kras City Grand Championship in 302 HE. After Baron Praxis’ defeat at the Battle of the Metal Head Nest in 297 HE, the Krimzon Guard began to manufacture robots at the Weapons Factory in the form of Blast Bots, Spy Bots and UB-86s, with the latter, later being upgraded as the Death Bot. While little is known of UR-86s whereabouts during the War for Haven City, it is likely that he served as second-in-command to Cyber Errol. After Errol’s death in 301 HE, he became the last surviving KG Death Bot and gained a reputation as the deadliest combat racer on the planet who held the top record for the most kills in a single race. Jak finally defeated him during the Grand Prix Red Eco Cup, which was an event UR-86 had never previously lost.

Locations and Districts

Industrial Zone

Under the control of the KG Robots, the sector was home to many industrious buildings and steam plants and was the location of the city's power station, which controlled the city's eco grid and Shield Wall. During the War for Haven City, the sector was heavily damaged, with craters from explosions on the surface, busted fuel tanks, obstructions, and a large support tower beam laid into the northern section, destroying some of the walls and buildings, also causing a redirection of a highway bridge.

KG War Factory

The primary headquarters of Cyber Errol and the KG Robots. It was suspended high in the sky above Haven City. The war factory was a massive floating facility with a rectangular base, a cylindrical tower in the middle, and a spire beneath it. At each of the corners of the rectangular base were primary defence towers, with the actual production taking place at the ground level. This ground level contained various production lines, gates, conveyor belts, equipment, machinery, and scaffolding. There was also a production line for security tanks which appeared to double as factory defences. Spawn pods for Death Bots and Spy Bots were located throughout the factory. Cyber Errol's command centre was located at the central tower and consisted of glass tiles, four spawn points from which Death Bots and Dark Makers appeared, and a balcony up top where Cyber Errol commanded his forces. There was also a warp gate situated at the back of the room.

Units

Blast Bot

A massive, four-legged robot, Blast Bots were mechanised armoured bombs that sought out targets and exploded upon arrival. Blast Bots had the resilience of a tank, although their only real weakness was their lack of mobility. Although equipped with proximity defences in the form of a laser cannon that could shoot in all directions, Blast Bots were vulnerable to a Hellcat Cruiser’s guns and could not target enemies that were in close proximity to them. Because of this, only 18 Blast Bots were manufactured during the War for Haven City.

Death Bot

Also known as the UB-86, the Death Bot were one of the main infantry units in the KG Robot army, with thousands mass-produced at the KG War Factory. In addition to being heavily armoured, Death Bots could roll into tight balls and ambush their opponents by knocking down enemies that encountered them. When uncoiled, the Death Bot could fire twin lasers from both arms and deliver a powerful punch to anyone within range.

Sentinel

A small, hovering bot with one blaster, the Sentinel was mainly used for spying purposes in and around the Industrial Zone. They had crimson-red armour and a camera eye that turned red upon sighting an enemy. It attacked by firing a single-shot blaster, which dealt minor damage.

Spy Bot

These small, weak, quadruped robots attacked their enemies simply by head-butting them. The Spy Bot was painted a crimson red with a single pod for a head, with two small laser sensors placed above their glowing eye-like device. They also had two small antennae. While in passive patrol mode, their sight sensor emitted a blue glow, which turned red once they sighted a target.

Vehicles and Turrets

Fighter

The KG Fighter was a fast, sleek jet that patrolled the skies around the KG War Factory. They were equipped with a laser gun, and their speed enabled them to outmanoeuvre a Hellcat Cruiser's guns easily, but they were highly vulnerable to torpedo attacks. During the Siege of Haven Palace, many Fighters engaged the Freedom League Hellcat Cruisers in the skies above Haven City, with the KG gaining total air superiority after the destruction of the Palace.

Robot Transport

A crimson red, heavily armed, armoured transport ship that could assault targets while dropping Death Bots, Spy Bots and Sentinels. Only seen during the Battle of New Haven, the KG Robot Transport had four thrusters powered by electricity and anti-gravity engines. It also had two modes of defence on the top and bottom of the vehicle: a missile launcher that could launch multiple missiles onto enemy forces and a rotating laser beam turret on the bottom of the craft.

Sniper Cannon

Large, mechanical arms that were stationed throughout the Industrial Zone. The Sniper Cannon took a short time to lock onto a target, but it would accurately fire a quick laser burst at its intended target once it did. It could be destroyed by deactivating the buttons around the cannon and destroying its power core. During the Battle of the Industrial Zone, Sniper Cannons kept Freedom League soldiers pinned down until Jak destroyed them, allowing the Freedom League to manoeuvre better.
